In the past several years, our organization has been at the forefront of making higher education achievable to meritorious Kshatriya students who lack the financial resources to pursue a college degree. Thanks to your generous contributions and the willingness of our Kshatriya community leaders back home in India, we have secured 22 admissions in higher education to deserving students over the past three years. This initiative is now well-established and running smoothly with dedicated leadership within our organization.

We think the time has come for our organization to look at expanding the assistance provided to our community beyond higher education. Our leadership discussed this and felt there is a need in assisting needy Kshatriyas in other areas like healthcare, elderly care, sponsor a child and give back to the village. We would like to pilot a Group Funding initiative named – KSHATRIYA HELPING HANDS to support these causes. This group-funding model is similar to Gofundme.com, GiveForward.com and YouCaring.com. Since we are starting with a few Pilot campaigns, we set a limit of $5,000 per campaign. A few pilot Group Funding campaigns/initiatives are listed below:

1.Healthcare Expenses

  • Unexpected medical expenses for parents visiting the US and students enrolled at Universities/looking for employment in USA.
  • Unexpected medical treatment for an individual/family due to injury or sickness.

2. Elderly Care Expenses

  • Purchase of wheelchair, hospital bed etc.
  • Pay for expenses associated with in-home elderly care.

3. Sponsor A Child

  • Sponsor a needy Kshatriya child/children.
  • Sponsor a specially challenged Kshatriya child/children.

4. Give Back to Village

  • Social welfare causes like improving the schools in your village, provide pure drinking water, provide skills to empower the youth. etc.

5. Natural Disasters

  • Support families who are impacted with natural disasters include earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, and more.

Group Funding Campaigns/Initiatives ($5,000 per campaign)

The process for starting a Group Funding campaign is outlined below:

Step 1: Create your fundraising campaign request using the template with a $5,000 goal by Submitting the Campaign Request. A short paragraph is required that describes the cause/need, and how the funding is going to make a difference in the life of the individual/family.

Step 2: The organization reviews the campaign requests and initiates the fundraising campaign via our website.

Step 3: Our organization will facilitate the acceptance of donations via PayPal or Check from donors.

Step 4: Once the fundraising goal is reached, the collected money will be disbursed to the individual/family.

Step 5: Community members will be updated on the outcome/benefit of the specific campaigns, and how they made a difference to the individual/family via the monthly newsletter.
