The Kshatriyas ‘Youth Connect -2018’

The Kshatriyas announces educational contest initiative in the form of Math Bee, Science Bee, and SAT which will be held on Sunday, May 27th 2018 at multiple locations across the USA. All regional winners (First & Second place) will be recognized at the next The Kshatriyas Annual Convention. Please encourage your children to register for these regional competitions.

Our Mission: To encourage, nourish the creative and budding talents in young Kshatriyas children, to provide a one-source platform where kids get the opportunity to participate in various Academic competitions in the areas of Math, Science etc. It is very important to nurture, develop and stimulate the intellectual potential in our children. Our goal is to strengthen the skills from a very young age to light the fire of passion and interest in academic competitive challenges.

Contest Categories: The competition is divided into 5 groups as listed below from kindergarten to 12th grade, and will be mainly focusing on critical and analytical problem-solving skills.

These educational contests will be conducted for Kshatriyas children who reside in USA and its free. So It’s a great opportunity, please register your children using online registration form button below on or before May 20th, 2018.

General Rules and Guidelines:

  1. Group level educational contests will be conducted for Kshatriya’s children who reside in the USA, free of charge.
  2. The Youth services committee of the Organization’s decision is final in all aspects of these contests.
  3. Winners (First & Second Place) will be awarded on the contest day immediately after the contests at the regional level and also will be recognized at the next The Kshatriyas National Convention.
  4. There will be no on-site registration. It is the responsibility of the contestant/parents to register their children online before the registration deadline as applicable to each center.
  5. It is the responsibility of the contestant to be present at the contest venue 30 minutes before the contest starts. Latecomers will not be allowed to compete in the contests.
  6. The Youth services committee reserves the right to verify the date of birth and/or grade of the contestants and revoke the rank(s) and prize(s) in case of any discrepancy.
  7. Each contestant can participate in only one Group. For example, a contestant cannot participate in both group2 and group3 level bees.
  8. Once you have registered for a regional center, a parent can transfer to another center (for the same contest) as long as the new center is in the same cluster and the registration deadline has not passed in either center.
  9. Contestants are responsible for bringing pencils and erasers.
  10. A parental interruption in any form during the contest is unacceptable and The Kshatriyas Youth Services committee reserves the right to ask the parent(s) to leave the contest venue or face disqualification of the contestant.
  11. The Kshatriyas Youth Services committee reserves the right to conduct a tie-breaker and/or announce joint winners or declare winners based on criteria that it deems fit to end the contest in a timely manner.
  12. Any changes to the rules will be announced before the start of the competition, but the judges always have the right to change rules on site without prior notice if the situation warrants. All decisions by the judges are final.
  13. No videography, nor the use of cell cameras are permitted during the contests. The Kshatriyas Youth Services committee reserves the right to take photos and videos for its official use.
  14. The Kshatriyas Youth Services committee conducts these educational activities on a “best efforts basis” only for the sole benefit of the community children. The Kshatriyas Organization, its officers, and volunteers are not responsible for any human error and consequent hardship, in any form, caused to any person(s) or organization(s).
  15. The Kshatriyas Youth Services committee reserves the right to cancel a contest if there were no sufficient number of registrants in a particular center, which will be conveyed well in advance.
  16. A contest may not take place on the designated date under circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will try to reschedule the contest at a later date.

The primary goal of these contests is to foster the spirit of competition and learning among the youth. Parents and children should focus on the joy of learning and interaction with other participants rather than on the possible outcome of the contest.

Rules/Instructions for The Kshatriyas Math Bee competitions:

  1. 30 problems need to be solved in 45 minutes
  2. Calculators are not allowed
  3. Answers need to be written in the exact designated place on the answer booklet for each question
  4. Each problem carries one point
  5. No negative points are given for wrong answers
  6. Unanswered question will carry Zero points
  7. Participation in multiple groups is not allowed
  8. Student cannot participate in a group lower than his/her grade level group
  9. Two awards (First and Second Place) are given in each group at regionals
  10. All contestants will receive participation certificates

Math Bee Preparation and Resources:

 

Rules/Instructions for The Kshatriyas Science Bee competitions:

  1. Each contestant will be given a set of 30 questions to answer them. The maximum time allocated to answer the 30 questions is 45minutes. Each contestant is given the question paper along with a blank answer sheet with 30 numbered rows to write the final answer. Each question has adequate space to arrive at the answer with a pencil. No other sheets will be given. Contestants are allowed to use the backside of the question paper to work out problems. Contestants are required to transfer the answers from the question paper to the answer sheet (which is attached to the question paper and contains 30 numbered rows to write the final answer).
  2. Calculators are NOT allowed at any level.
