Kshatriyas, the warrior clans, have always been good at rallying the troops to rise to the occasion at hand. So it was in 2012 when a few of us gave the call for all the Kshatriyas of North America to come together as one—the first Kshatriya Sankranthi Event became a reality. Kshatriyas form a small community in India and a smaller one in North America. Despite this, this first Sankranthi gathering enjoyed an immense success. This gave birth to the idea of building a strong Raju platform in North America that was relevant to our times. The intention was to create an environment that would foster and nurture the current and future generations of our community.

Most of us living in North America now have had the good fortune of growing up in India surrounded by family, soaking up the culture and embracing the roots that are singular to our society. We took sustenance and derived strength from that togetherness. Our children, though enfolded within their individual families, miss that security of belonging to a larger community.

With this awareness, The Kshatriyas Association of North America, a non-profit organization, was founded in the year 2013. One of the primary goals of the organization is to create a platform that provides everyone in our community a sense of belonging. A platform that offers our future generations an exposure to the worthy traditions and moral code that we grew up with.

Through annual social and cultural events such as Sankranthi Sambaralu, the organization aspires to bring all the Kshtriyas of North America together. As one, we can commit to pursuing meaningful objectives such as offering a helping hand to those in need in our community both here and back home, and supporting our younger generations in acquiring a good education and foundation in life. Let us encourage our youth to take active part in the Youth Services offered by the organization so they cultivate lasting friendships with their peers and carry forward the legacy of our forebears.

As members of this organization, let us resolve to give back to the society by being responsible and engaged citizens. We invite you all to join hands in making The Kshatriyas strong.
